1. Petsmart - 4001 Legacy Park Dr 519-250-9229 - Store Manager - Dave
Largest pet store in Windsor. Very large selection of equipment. You can find great prices if you are a member of "Pet Perks". The cichlid selection is minimal, however they do take reasonable care of there fish and prices are fair in most cases. Sometimes the prices are too high on certain fish. Overall, I would recommend checking this store out for price comparison.

2. Petsmart - 3164 Dougall Ave. 519-967-8600
Newest location in Windsor. Smaller than other location. Same as above.

3. Petzown - 25 Amy Croft Drive Unit 20 (Tecumseh) 519-979-6700 - Store Owner - Mario
Brand new store in Tecumseh. Small but decent selection of equipment. They only have a small selection of cichlids, which are different every month or two. They purchase fish from a breeder from Michigan. Fish are well cared for in most cases.

4. Canadian Aquarium & Pond - 6525 Wyandotte St. E 519-974-2720 - Store Owner - Ian Pillon
This store has a the largest (in Windsor) selection of cichlids of various sizes. The filtration system looks to be very good and most fish appear to be healthy. Prices are fair. This store is only open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

5. Pro Fish Center - 2140 Wyandotte St W 519-971-0706
This is a small store near the University of Windsor. They have a small selection of cichlids but very reasonable prices. I have seen some unhealthy tanks. Each tank is individually filtered. The tanks are pretty dirty. Unless you live nearby I wouldn't take the trip to this store.

6. House of Tropical Fish - 3230 Jefferson Ave. 519-945-2323 - Store Owner - Dave Becket
Dedicated mainly to saltwater fish and supplies. They do have some cichlids and can special order.

7. Fish Crazy - 2982 Front Rd. (Lasalle) 519-734-7100

If you are willing to endure the long drive and crossing the border this is the best cichlid fish store you will ever go to.

They have new and old world cichlids. Price is fair.

Here's a few more that I know of; Superior Sea (Corner of Tecumseh and Pillette) Owner Jose, Corbrets Pet Depot (Walker road South) highly experienced employees and large fish section, Another Corbrets (Tecumseh roadd near jefferson)

how many cichlid tanks does cpa have? im looking to go there on sat and i want to know how many tanks they have. do they have any new world cichlids? -what about corbets pet depot. have u ever been there. do they have any good cichlid tanks

I would never go to Corbrets their prices are horrible and some of their cichlids are cross bred. I also found that they do not have proper names for their fish.

I would have to agree with Darcy. Corbrets products are way over priced and although Brian at the Tecumseh road location is knowledgeable he isn't one to offer information easily. I know that the guy who used to work at the Walker Rd store was good...I forget his name, but he left about a year ago and they haven't found anyone else I would consider knowledgeable.

Also, I didn't know Jose at Superior Sea carried cichlids ? I thought he was just saltwater ?

And, Yes superior sea does carry cichlids. Just a few tanks right now though. They are renovating the store to carry more freshwater.
